    ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

We must take immediate and radical action now, to stop the impending fate of Global Warming. Recent science is showing us that we are either at, or quite very possibly, beyond the tipping point to stop the worst of the effects of Human Activity upon the environment. We can not afford to wait 50 years, 20 years, 10 years, or even 5 years, we NEED action now! We have already spent more on the War in Iraq than would be required to convert the entire world to green, renewable energy.

    FREE UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE

Health Care should be a Human Right available freely and without constraint to all Citizens of the United States of America. Our Constitution itself states that we shall "Promote the General Welfare." With Universal Health Care we can ensure that all Americans have access to quality health care without having to worry about incurring the debt of high-priced medical expenses, or without needing to worry if they should pay for their prescription this month, or their power bill. No person in the United States of America should ever have to face that decision.

    FREE TUITION FOR HIGH EDUCATION

College is often an unaffordable expense for many Americans, or they face the dilemma of racking up an enormous amount of debt to pursue their education. With a College and University system that has no tuition costs, imagine how many more Americans will be able to pursue their career goals and dreams. How many Doctors and Teachers, Artists and Poets, Architects and Engineers, or Inventors or Philosophers are unable to achieve their potential because they are forever chained to low-wage employment.

    A UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME

For many people, this may be the most difficult of my positions to follow or support; however, it could also be the most vital. We need to establish a rudimentary income level for all Americans, which they are paid by the government on a regular basis (either bi-weekly, or perhaps monthly). This Basic Income should be able to cover the cost of simple housing, perhaps a studio apartment, as well as basic needs, like water, power, and food. This is to establish a level for all Americans that we will not allow people to fall below. People will no longer have to fear buying groceries or paying their heating bill in the winter time. And, it will also give people the opportunity to pursue their goals, dreams, and ambitions.

    SIX MONTHS PAID FAMILY LEAVE

The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) in the United States is one of, if not the worst forms of early childhood care in the Industrialized World, and I believe that it is time we become the shining example of Paid Family Leave. We need to ensure that our children are well taken care of from birth, and no one is more qualified to do so than the child's parents. We need to provide 6-months of Paid Family Leave (at 100%) to both Mothers and Fathers to ensure that their children receive the best of family care from parents who don't have to worry about how to keep the lights on or put food on the table.

    WOMEN'S RIGHTS

It shames me that the United States is still not a place with full gender equality. The fact that some individuals earn differently than others simply because of their "plumbing" is baffling. I will work to ensure that Equal Pay is a matter of Law, and fight for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment. I also believe that Reproductive Rights belong to Women, and that Men have no business intruding upon the Female body with anachronistic and ignorant laws.

    LGBTQ RIGHTS

I believe that all Americans have the Right to Self-Discovery under the First Amendment, and part of that Self-Discovery is Gender Identity. There should be no distinctions made between people because they find that they themselves are attracted to the same sex, the opposite sex, or both, or any other combination of gender, sex, and attraction. Sexuality is not a simple matter of binary selection and we should not punish people because of it, nor deny them access to services. And to ensure that level of equality and access is never trodden upon, we will need to enshrine non-discrimination verbiage into all of our laws.

AN OPEN BORDER / PATH TO CITIZENSHIP

I oppose the militarization of the border between the United States and Mexico, and the building of any type of wall be it physical or "in theory." We, as an open and democratic society, need to welcome all those who wish to come to our nation with open and generous arms. Many of these people are fleeing strife or hardship in their home nations, or find that they can not achieve due to the regressive policies in their home nations. We must recognize that it is often difficult and tragic to leave the nation of one's birth, and allow those who have come to the United States the opportunity to better themselves. If any Immigrant can offer at least 6 months proof of residency in the United States, that Immigrant should be granted full citizenship.
